You see, food has what we call a “satiety factor.” This simply refers to how much it fills you up. Junk food, unfortunately, has a very low satiety factor. This means you can eat thousands of junk food calories and still not feel full.
On the other hand, foods high in nutrients typically have a high satiety factor. These are the veggies your mother was always trying to get you to eat. This is broccoli, spinach, peas, beans, and whole grains.
For example, one cup of broccoli only has about 70 calories. Eating 3 cups of broccoli will fill you up like crazy. Devouring the same amount of ice cream will only leave you wanting more.
Another high satiety food is protein. More specific, lean protein. Not only is lean protein high in satiety, there is also another factor known as “thermic effect.” This refers to how much energy you burn while digesting the food.
Protein has a thermic effect of 30 percent. This means that if you eat 100 calories of protein, 30 of those calories are burned automatically, just to digest the food. How cool is that?
Evil Weight Loss Secret #2: Stuff Your Face Often
You should eat 5 to 6 smaller meals every day. This way, you never get super hungry, and your metabolism stays stoked.
Using an online calorie calculator, determine how many calories your body naturally burns each day. Then, subtract about 500 from that number, and that will give you the ideal number of calories you need to consume to lose about 1 per cent of your body weight in fat every week.
Evil Weight Loss Secret #3: Cheat
Did I actually say “cheat?” Yes I did. Why would I advocate such a thing? Well keep in mind, these are evil ways to lose weight. And, cheating can be pretty evil, don’t you think? Here’s how you do it.
Pick a day. Then, for the final meal of that day, eat whatever you want and as much of it as you want. This is a time for pigging out. Stuff your face with doughnuts, drink all the soda and inhale all the pizza you want. But just for this one meal.
