Chocolate diet is a weight loss plot that involves everyday consumption of small amounts of chocolate. It is said that this program is beneficial since it lowers cholesterol. Chocolates are made from cacao beans which contain flavanoids which act as antioxidants. Antioxidants are helps prevent cancer, strokes and heart disease. Although chocolates contain fats, these won’t increase one’s cholesterol level.
Dark Chocolate Diet
Dark Chocolates contain more flavanoids than milk or white chocolates. These are known as bittersweet chocolates because it contains less or no sugar. The dark chocolate plot also allows limited amounts of chocolate to be consumed since it may provide health benefits.
Chocolate diet plot
The chocolate diet, as written by Sally Ann Voak, promised that one can eat chocolate and lose several pounds in two weeks. Each of her six diet plot includes a variety that fit within the recommended calorie for meals, approach to be followed and suggestions for exercises. These diets start with a week of withdrawal from chocolate so that people can start to manage their chocolate cravings. They also include unlimited amounts of vegetables. Vegetables include broccoli, asparagus, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, watercress and red and green peppers.
Voak’s Chocolate diet plans are for:
  • Secret Bingers – People who hide chocolates and don’t like other to know that they consume it. This plot consists of two light meals of 350 calories each, a 250-calorie breakfast, a 400-calorie main meal and a 100-calorie treat. For the second as well as the succeeding weeks, the daily chocolate allowance is at 150 calories. People in this diet may also include a 200-calorie dessert or beverage.
  • Romantics – People who use chocolates as substitute for like. Their plot includes a 250-calorie breakfast, 350-calorie light meal, a 400-calorie main meal and a 100-calorie treat. They may spend a 300-calorie chocolate treat three times a week after the second week.
  • Comfort eaters – People who eat chocolates when stressed, problematic or tired. Their plot consists of a 250-calorie breakfast, 350-calorie light meal, a 400-calorie main meal and two 50-calorie treats. A daily chocolate allowance of 200 calories is followed in the second week and 50-calorie allowance is set in the following weeks.
  • Weekend indulgers – people who relate chocolates with celebrations. Their plot includes a 1350-calorie daily allowance during the week and 1600-calorie allowance on the weekend. During the week, the menu plot is a 250-calorie breakfast, 350-calorie light meal, 400-calore main meal, and two 100-calorie treats. 300 calories in chocolate is allowed each weekend day after the second week.
  • Sugar addicts – people who get most of their body’s calories from carbohydrates and use chocolates as fix if tired. Their meal plot consists of a 250-calorie breakfast, two 250-calorie light meals, a 400-calorie main meal and a 100-calorie treat. During the second and succeeding weeks, the daily chocolate allowance is 200 calories.
  • Premenstrual cravers – people who indulge in chocolates before or on their menstrual period.  Their plot consists of five 250-calorie meals and a 100-calorie treat. A daily chocolate allowance of 100 calories is allowed in the second and succeeding weeks.
